Every year, AAS creates a summary of the newest national suicide statistics. AAS is greatful to Dr. John L. McIntosh for his work preparing these summaries.
National Suicide Statistics are available through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) online database, WISQARS.
WISQARS, the Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System, is an interactive system that provides customized reports of injury-related data from the national Center of Health Statistics (NCHS) and the violent death data from NCIPC's National Violent Death Reporting System.
International statistics are generally unreliable due to differences in how and how often they are collected, but a good place to start would be the World Health Organization.
AAS also has a number of fact sheets prepared for general and specific populations.
