Certification Training Webinar

The crisis worker certification webinar training session is designed to provide a brief review of a standardized set of understandings and basic crisis worker skills that will help crisis workers prepare to successfully pass the AAS’s individual crisis worker certification online exam. The training session includes a review of crisis intervention and communication skills, suicide assessment skills and knowledge and other topics relevant to crisis workers.

Recommendation
: Crisis workers that attend this session should already be experienced in the field of crisis work especially on crisis lines or as trainers or supervisors.

This webinar is hosted by Joan Wright, AAS Director of Accreditation & Certification.


Joan Wright has had 22 years of experience as the Executive Director of a multi-service crisis and information centre. She was involved with the agency as a volunteer on the Distress Line, as Coordinator of Volunteers, and as Director of the Suicide Prevention Program, and has facilitated numerous workshops and presentations related to crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and suicide bereavement. Joan has also been an active member of AAS for over 12 years. During that period she has been Coordinator for the Crisis Center Committee, a member of the AAS Board, an examiner for the Crisis Center Certification process and is currently the Director of Accreditation & Certification for AAS.
